Radical Dharma - a 6-week introduction to Buddhism and Meditation
at Snainton Village Hall
About the course
Can we really find happiness in more and more distraction, and having lots of stuff? Buddhism tells us that this won’t work – but that there is a deeper, more stable happiness to be found, if we look in the right place.
On this course you will learn the two most important Buddhist meditation practices, and try out some powerful Buddhist wisdom teachings that can change the way we see the world.
Using a combination of teaching input, small-group discussion, meditation, and practical exercises, this course gives us the tools to change, towards a deeper happiness.
This course will be led by experienced Buddhists who are members of the Triratna Buddhist Order, Dharmachari Mahasraddha and Dharmacharini Upayadevi.
Who’s the course for?
This course is particularly suitable for those who are new to Buddhism and meditation, as well as those with some experience. You don't need to be a Buddhist, or want to be a Buddhist. 18+

Where to Find Us
Please note that this is location of this specific course (and not the Scarborough Buddhist Group)
Driving
Snainton Village Hall is on the A170, at the Scarborough end of Snainton Village, opposite the primary school.
By bus
The 128 bus leaves the Scarborough railway station at 16.40 and gets to Snainton at 5.14 - a bit too early for the course, but you could come to Mahasraddha and Upayadevi's house in Brompton-by-Sawdon and have a cuppa with us, and then walk along to the village hall (less than half a mile). Get in touch if you want to do this.
Unfortunately there is no bus back to Scarborough at the end of the evening - but we can help organise lifts, a few people have offered.
